One Month Old!

Nathan is one month old today (January 23) and weighs 4 lbs 12.4 ozs at 33 weeks. For his one month old "presents" he was upgraded to a feeding tube through his nose (instead of his mouth) and his first shot (Hepatitis B vaccine). His feeding tube is going through his nose now so his mouth is free for sucking. He started nuzzling with mommy two days ago (getting a feel for the territory when it comes time for nursing). His practice time has been going really well. Soon he will be able to start nursing but assisted with the feeding tube. It's hard work for little ones at this age (to be able to breathe, suck, and swallow all at the same time). It takes a lot of energy out of them.

He's still doing great maintaining his temperature!

Our little cuddle bug!

"Hi everyone! I'm one month old today!" He wasn't cooperating so well; was hungry and wanted us to quit playing with him. Linda (his nurse) and I wanted to get a few pictures of him before his feeding tube was changed to his nose.

  1. What beautiful pictures! I especially love the one of the three of you and the ones with the grandparents...they look so proud! Glad to hear that things are going so well!
