January 22, 2009 Update

Nathan continues to make wonderful progress. The nurses slowly decreased the temperature in his incubator and added layers of clothing, first a sleeper over his onesie and then wrapped in a blanket over the sleeper. Since he has been able to maintain his own body temperature, he upgraded to a big boy bed (an open crib).

Once in a open crib, he is wrapped in a Halo sack in place of the blanket. Now that he is in a crib, he can only be on his back (just as if we were at home). It's so much easier to assist with his cares now. I'm able to move about instead of my arms confined through two portholes from the incubator.
