January 2017 Highlights:
Nathan brought home a pair of glasses from the school prize box that have eyebrows and mustache with a big pink nose. He was so excited to earn this prize and loved making faces while wearing these glasses. What a goofy kid!
To ring in the new year apparently Nathan thought it was a good idea to take a classmates advice and cut his shirt with a pair of scissors! We had to have the scissor talk...again.
February 2017 Highlights:
Valentine's Day is always a special day to spread a little extra love around. Nathan enjoyed exchanging Valentine's with his class. This year we gave him a Play-Doh Toolin' Around Playset. He was due for some fresh Play-Doh and thought he would also enjoy these different tools to cut and shape his creations.
Nathan is growing like a weed! The build-to-grow set he had was supposed to last him from baby to tween; but my goodness were we wrong with his long legs. In result Nathan received a new bedroom set...he moved up to a queen bed! I decided to update his décor since he is not a little boy anymore. Included in his new bedroom set is a desk that he can sit at and do his homework, draw, etc.
Side note: Nathan didn't like the idea of having a "girl" bed (queen) and us having a "boy" bed (king). I had to explain that it's just the names for the different bed sizes; that it had nothing to do with being a boy or girl. Funny!
The weather in February has been a beautiful surprise. There were several days we were able to enjoy the outdoors for some fresh air and sunshine. Nathan loves playing on the playground equipment at the park in our neighborhood and running around all over with the neighbor kids. Yeah, burn off some of that energy!
Another outdoor activity Nathan likes is drawing pictures on the driveway with sidewalk chalk. Here are some of his creations.
March 2017 Highlights:
Nathan enjoyed taking a bath in our big jet tub. He was smiling from ear to ear when the jets were turned on. He thought that was something special.
He played the board game Battleship for the first time over spring break. It took a few turns to understand how to play but after he got the hang of it, he enjoyed sinking my ships. He picked up the names of each of the ships quickly...I still have to look at the guide to tell him which ship was hit or sunk.
Where's Nathan? Can you find him in his big pile of stuffed animals? ;) Nathan narrowed down his enormous collection of stuffed animals. We're talking so many that the toy box lid would not close anymore. He decided to put over a dozen animals in our garage sale next month. Great job Nathan!
