Below is how our new year has started out...
January 2016 Highlights:
To ring in the new year, we celebrated by having the Wiese family over for food, fun, and football! Nathan loved having his cousins over to play at our house.
Nathan signed up for Tae Kwon Do lessons. He really enjoyed it at first but towards the end of the month as the classes progressed I think he had a change of heart. He was a real trooper and completed the class but he decided to not pursue this sport further after his registration. Here are a few pictures of his experience.
February 2016 Highlights:
This year Nathan chose to make a robot for his Valentine's box. We had fun creating this together. He was excited to take it to school to show his teacher and friends. Mommy and Daddy gave Nathan a little present for Valentine's - the movie 'Home' and Silly Putty!
With some of his birthday money that he had been saving, Nathan decided to purchase a Lego Bionicle set. He has fallen in love with Bionicles now! Nathan can build so many different Lego sets on his own, or only need a little help from us. There are sets that are above his age level that he does very well building too. Below he is in the process of building his new Bionicle set. We expanded his Lego storage in his room for future sets and creations.
We had not been to the movie theater in a while...so away we went to see 'Zootopia' together. Nathan enjoyed having his own box of popcorn, soda pop, and bag of fruit snacks to enjoy during the movie.
It's Easter time! Nathan was so anxious for Easter to come. He was very excited to see what the Easter Bunny put in his basket. And jelly beans...Nathan loves jelly beans! What kid doesn't start eating the candy bright and early in the morning? Yum! Nathan got the movie 'The Good Dinosaur', sidewalk chalk, and a big container of bubbles. There were also Minion shaped eggs filled with quarters! Nathan had fun searching around the house for hidden eggs too.
April 2016 Highlights:
Nathan had a train theme school concert on the 12th of this month. Nathan did an amazing job. He even played an instrument, the glockenspiel. His instrument piece was a surprise to us because he never mentioned it at home when he would talk about a few of the songs they were practicing! That little stinker. Nathan was making silly faces to us while on stage which made us laugh...a lot. He is such a goofball. Here are a few picture of his performance with all of the first grade class.
