September 2015 Highlights:
The 17th of this month was school picture day. Nathan looked so handsome and grown up. He thought it was fun to use a little bit of Mommy's hairspray.
Below is one of Nathan's favorite things to do while riding in the car. He likes to "fly" some of his airplanes out his window to watch the propeller spin fast. So far so good, we have not lost any of his airplanes out the car.
Nathan asked Jesus into his heart the evening of September 21. Praise the Lord! After his salvation prayer Nathan kept saying "I'm so excited" over and over again. He was bright with light and smiles. He also said "My heart is so happy!"
October 2015 Highlights:
We set the date for his birthday party (to celebrate with friends) for December 5 so that the party would be away from the holidays. I mentioned to Nathan to not talk about his upcoming party at school since only a handful of kids were invite; not everyone. Nathan told me that he did not talk about his "fake birthday party" to his friends at school; that he was keeping it a secret. We thought this was funny that he considered this a fake party; must be fake in his eyes since it's not on his actual birthday? Ha!
Go Cyclones! Daddy took Nathan to his first college football game at the Iowa State stadium on October 3rd. Nathan had a great time at the game with Daddy.
It's Halloween time! Every year Nathan gets so excited to dress up in a costume. He usually decides months ahead of time on what he wants to be and then he can't stop talking about it until the big night comes. This year Nathan chose to be a storm trooper from Star Wars. It was fun walking our new neighborhood. Note for next year....we need MORE candy.

November 2015 Highlights:
Nathan received his first full ESV study bible from Mommy and Daddy. He will be able to grow in the Word of God. The pictures below are so precious!
On the 12th Nathan came home from school with six notes from three different girls! The notes contained hearts, Nathan's name, and the word love all over. Nathan says that the girls like to chase him around. Do we have a future ladies man on our hands? Below is one of the "love" notes to Nathan.
Our first snow happened this month. Nathan loved using his sled in our backyard. He played out in the snow for a long time. He made several trips up the hill to slide down with a big smile on his face. From the window I watched Nathan make himself a snow angel. I thought that it was funny that he studied it afterwards. A cup of hot chocolate was in order once he came inside to warm up.
We joined the Wiese family for Thanksgiving this year. This year was extra special with Nana and Papa joining the Wiese family for dinner. The world of grandparents was colliding...he was confused momentarily. Nathan had a blast playing with his cousins.
Shortly after Thanksgiving, Nathan's elf named Buddy, arrived at our house so that he can send reports to Santa on how he is behaving. We will see what Buddy might get into or where he will be sitting next for Nathan to discover after coming back from the North Pole. Nathan just loves Buddy, he talks about him throughout the year. Here we are decorating our Christmas tree!

December 2015 Highlights:
Nathan was able to see Santa early this Christmas season. He wanted to make sure to show Santa his letter that he wrote all by himself. He became embarrassed as soon as Santa read the letter. Santa asked about Buddy to make sure he visited our house. Nathan enjoyed riding the train at Santa's workshop. Choo-choo!
It's birthday party time! Nathan had a Star Wars theme for his birthday party....surprise, surprise! Since Nathan isn't a cake fan, we had cookies that were decorated with Star Wars ring toppers. The kids enjoyed coloring Star Wars pages, playing games, and eating goodies. They played pin the nose on C3P0 and Chewy; ran around with homemade light sabers; and broke open the Darth Vader piñata. Nathan enjoyed spending time with his friends.
Nathan officially turned seven years old on the 23rd. We had a quiet family celebration with just the three of us. Nathan loved tearing into his Star Wars wrapped presents. It was so much fun watching his face expressions as he opened them. His favorite was the PS4 Minecraft game.

Being our first Christmas in our new house, we enjoyed a merry little Christmas opening gifts together. Afterwards we traveled to Nana and Papa's house. Nathan had discovered a Lego Wall-E back in the fall in a magazine. He fell in love with this yellow robot so much that he cut out the picture from the magazine and slept with this piece of paper; even took it on car rides with him to school. After months of waiting Santa Clause granted his wish!
