Toothless!

Did someone push the fast forward button?  I can't believe how fast four months have gone by in a flash!

September 2013 Highlights:
One evening at the dinner table Nathan started singing "Who let the dogs out?".  Isaac and I look at each other and just started laughing.  Nathan loves bouncy balls.  He gets to pick something out of the treasure box at daycare if he has a good day.  We have quite the collection of bouncy balls at our house.  This is a blast from the past for me because when I was growing up, my brother and I collected these.

October 2013 Highlights:
Nathan has created a long good night saying.  When telling us good night he says "Good night, sweet dreams, love you, see you in the morning", then blows a kiss.  He still says this every night.

We visited the Center Grove Orchard and invited Nathan's Uncle Tyler and Aunt Jamie to join us.  We had a great time together and the weather was beautiful.  Here are some fun pictures of our fall day....

It's wonderful to see Nathan learn and grow every day.  He recently asked an intelligent question - "Where does water come from?".  What a great question.  Also, when he is listening to a bedtime story, he now asks questions about different characters in the book and wants explanations about what is happening in the story.

We enjoyed painting pumpkins again this year.  Nathan and I painted ours and Daddy carved his.  Nathan enjoyed scooping out the insides of Daddy's pumpkin.  I think these pictures below wrap up our fun afternoon together with pumpkins from our recent orchard / pumpkin patch visit.

Nathan was trying to get me with his pumpkin slimy fingers!

Nathan chose to be Spiderman for Halloween this year.  He was sooooo excited and giggly to wear his costume when the big night came.  He did a great job going door-to-door in our neighborhood.  We reminded Nathan to say trick or treat when someone answers their door and expressed to him that it's important to say thank you after you take a piece of candy.  He was so focused on saying trick or treat that he would forget to say thank you.  Then several houses later, he got it mixed up and said thank you first followed by trick or treat.  It was cute!

Nathan's candy loot!

November 2013 Highlights:
Nathan was so excited about the leaves this fall.  One afternoon, Daddy picked up Nathan early from daycare so that he could play in a huge pile of leaves in the front yard.  He had a blast playing, jumping, and raking the leaves...over and over again.  Here are some great pictures of Nathan enjoying our favorite season of the year.

We enjoyed a family night out at the bowling alley.  Nathan had a great time.  Of course, his setting has the bumpers automatically raise when it's his turn.  He was so very proud of himself, he said "I never got any gutter balls like you did Mommy!".  I just smiled and expressed that he did a great job.

On November 19th, Nathan lost is very first baby tooth!!!  The first one to come out was the bottom middle (his right) tooth.  The tooth-fairy replaced his tooth with four quarters.  Nathan was very excited to put the money in his piggy bank.

December 2013 Highlights:
After lots and lots of practice, Nathan has now accomplished the task of whistling.  He was quite proud of himself and made sure everyone could hear him whistling.

Daddy's work hosted a Children's Christmas event.  Nathan sat on Santa's lap and told Santa what he wanted for Christmas.  There were art activities, candy and cookies, a jump house, and inflatable obstacle course for a pair of kids to race to the end.  Nathan had a blast!

Nathan turned 5 years old this month.  We had a birthday party at Nana and Papa's house this year.  Nathan enjoyed his Curious George themed birthday party.  He had a great birthday!

Birthday boy is 5 years old now!

Mommy and Daddy got Nathan a bike helmet.
We asked him what do you need a helmet for?

Nana and Papa's present to Nathan for his 5th birthday
is a big boy bike!  He was all smiles!!!

Despite the cold windy weather, we bundled up
and Nathan enjoyed riding his new bike!

We had a wonderful Christmas with the Campbell family this year.  Nana and Papa enjoyed our extended stay at their house for the best holiday of the year.

Santa visited!

Nathan lost his second baby tooth this month - bottom middle (his left) tooth on December 26th.  He was just a few days off from having Santa Clause AND the tooth-fairy visiting.  That would have been interesting.

We are really impressed with how well Nathan draws pictures; they are really detailed.  He draws pictures all the time at home and daycare.  We display his proud work on the kitchen fridge with fun magnets.  Sometimes Nathan likes to get a little heavy on the quantity of magnets to hold up one picture.  It's kind of amusing.  Below is a display of some of his artwork.
