May 2013 Highlights:
Nathan said to me one day "I love your heart". This nearly made my heart melt when he told me this for the first time. He will say this sweet saying on occasion still.
He knows a lot of letters of the alphabet on his own. Scrabble Junior Cheez-It's are good practice during snack time.
Nathan made Isaac and I laugh when we heard him say "holy guacamole" one day when he was playing. He is a funny boy and makes his Mommy and Daddy laugh and smile.

On the 13th I told Nathan that it was Mommy and Daddy's anniversary. Nathan gave me a bashful smile. Then he said "Well, someday I'll get married". After I gave him the 4 year old version of love and that someday he would get married, he then told me that he loves me and wants to marry me when he gets older. Adorable!!!
Memorial weekend we had Nana, Papa, Uncle Brandon, and Kodie stay with us. Tyler had an itch to play with Play-Doh so he and Aunt Jamie went out to buy some for Nathan to play with together. Very cute!

June 2013 Highlights:
Nathan often says "You're so funny!".
He draws classic stick figure people, a sun with clouds in the sky, and grass. I just love his drawings and watching him get better over time with his artwork.

Nathan also does a great job writing his name by himself and his letters are legible too!
It's cute to see him play daycare/school with his stuffed animals. Nathan is the teacher (of course) and lines up his stuffed animals and he gets out his story books for his "students".
On June 11, 2013 Nathan had his four year well child checkup. He weighed in at 45 pounds and at 3 feet 8 1/4 inches tall! No wonder I can only hold him for a few minutes anymore.

Daddy was watering parts of the back yard with the hose one day when Nathan decided to run through the sprinkler...in his clothes. He really enjoyed running up and down the hill through the water getting soaked. Good way to keep cool with this year's hot summer!
July 2013 Highlights:
Nathan likes to ride with Daddy in his new sports car. He calls it a race car. One car ride together Nathan was mimicking Daddy shifting in the car with a water bottle in his booster seat cup holder. Wonder if Nathan will grow up to be a car buff like his Daddy?

On 4th of July Nathan was so excited about the fireworks. He kept on asking for another firework right after one just finished. During the flash/strobe like fireworks he kept saying "Flash. Flash, flash. Flash" and making hand motions during the whole thing. He had a great time. It was fun to see him so excited.

Nathan went to his first movie at the theater on July 6th. We went to see 'Monsters University' together as a family. He did really well sitting in his own seat the whole time. We shared popcorn and soda-pop together.
He got to experience Adventureland for the first time on July 11th. After telling Nathan the variety of rides he could go on, he kept saying that he wanted to ride the roller coaster. With him never experiencing any kind of ride in his life, we kept putting off the big ride until he rode a few mild rides first to see his reaction. Nathan did really well waiting in line at the different rides. He rode the water log ride and got soaked. He loved it! And yes we finally went on the wooden roller coaster (The Tornado). Isaac and Nathan sat together and I sat right behind them. I didn't want to scare Nathan while I screamed the entire way. Nathan LOVED the roller coaster. As soon as it was over he wanted to go again. Isaac and I were blown away at his reaction! Crazy kid!

August 2013 Highlights:
Nathan can snap his figures together. At first it was really soft hearing the "snap" sound. He would get upset that he couldn't make a loud snap like Mommy or Daddy. I kept saying it takes practice to get better and we encouraged him to keep trying. Later this month he now has a loud "snap"! He is so proud of himself accomplishing this big kid task. He also is practicing whistling. This one will probably take more time and patience to accomplish. Once in a while we hear a faint whistle but most of the time he just wants to make a whistle sound effect instead and call that whistling. We just smile and tell him to keep trying, you can do it.
The 'repeating game' has come alive at our house. It's fun for a short period of time having Nathan repeat what either of us say; we play along and say some silly things for him to repeat. And then we all laugh. But after awhile it just gets old (like usual right). Thankfully Nathan does a good job stopping when we've had enough.
Nathan is officially in preschool now at daycare! He is doing very well in his new room at daycare. It's exciting watching him learn more and seeing him change. In just the few short weeks he has been in preschool, Isaac and I have already seen improvement. The day he goes to kindergarten is not that far away.
He had his six month dentist checkup at the end of this month. The hygienist discovered that he has a loose tooth - the bottom middle right tooth!!!! That was fun news to hear....but then at the end of his check, she also discovered that he has his first cavity. It was a small cavity that the dentist was able to apply a topical numbing ointment and took great care in fixing his tooth quickly. He was a brave patient.
Nathan builds impressive things with his wood blocks and his Legos. He was very proud of is wood block creation in this picture below.
