* Nathan shakes his head no now. At first I wasn't sure he knew the meaning but now I believe he does. He mostly shakes his head no when he's laying down to be changed. This may be because I was blowing on his tummy making him laugh. He can stand on his own for a short period of time, frequently throughout the day. He does great walking while holding onto someones hands. Sometime Nathan gets to walking so fast he's leaning forward. Every day he is getting better at this new adventure.
* It's funny to see him wrinkle up his nose and breath in and out really fast repeatedly when he's excited about something. Nathan plays nicely on the floor by himself. It's really cute to watch him look for a toy that rolled under a piece of furniture. He gets on his hands and knees, sometimes on his tummy, and is moving his head to where he can spot the toy that moved under the couch or coffee table. He puts toys up onto furniture, the window ledge or his high chair then takes them back down, then repeats. Nathan likes to put toys into things such as a plastic cup, basket, or even the bath tub. He has figured out if he tosses a toy over the gate upstairs that he can watch the toy bounce all the way down the stairs.
* Unfortunately the current not-so-great phase for Nathan right now is being LOUD! He is very vocal and he knows it. He will get your attention for sure when he wants something (and gets upset if he doesn't get what he wants and isn't happy until he is distracted with something else). Even when he is playing, he likes to be loud at times.
* Nathan is doing really well at feeding himself table food. He uses both is right and left hand. Not sure which hand will be the dominate one. I think Mommy is holding him back on table food experiences because baby food jars are so much easier (hardly any preparation required), especially coming home from a long day at work. I'm doing my best to give him what we have at the dinner table now, then have some jars as a backup. There isn't too much table food that he doesn't like....yet. With this, he has two more teeth up top to help him chew his food and it's really cute to hear a little crunching sound when he's taking bites. This makes for a total of six teeth. He is wearing 18 months size clothes and still in size 4 diapers.
* Oh, and he pooped in the bath tub for the first time. This is going to be mentioned in his baby book for sure, under the category 'Other Firsts'. I think this is really what this section is for.
Enjoy the pictures taken on February 23 at 14 months old!
Look at me, I just climbed all the way up the stairs!
Nathan loves snuggling with his blanket...or anything soft.
Getting into the cupboard!
