Nathan turned 5 months old over Memorial weekend (May 23rd). He has made so many changes since the last month. Here are a few things that he is now doing:
* Lots of hand activity - he puts his hands together, has at least one fist or a thumb in his mouth, likes to pull off his bib and likes to hold onto Mommy's shirt or finger when feeding. I've been practicing with him to hold a toy to work on his grip.
* He had just a hint of a laugh on May 16th. I keep trying to get him to laugh but hasn't yet...he will when he's ready and we can't wait to hear it.
* There are lots and lots of smiles coming from this little growing boy as well as many coos and squeals. It's great to have a "conversation" and interact with him.
* Patience? Not so much when burping him mid feeding. He cries and kicks because he doesn't want to stop eating at burping time. Sometimes I put a pacifier in his mouth to get him to calm down while working on that burp (thanks to a great tip from Grandma Wiese).
* He kicks his legs and has strength in them while "standing" on my lap. He scoots himself all over the place in his crib now. I have found him several times laying the short way in his crib or at an angle.
* Nathan is eating 6 ounces of milk five time a day. He is still wearing size one diapers and in 3 month size clothes.
Here are some pictures of him at 5 months old as well as a few to enjoy from our Memorial weekend in Columbus.
Look at me, I can hold my rattle all by myself (for a while at least).
