20 Weeks Old

Nathan turned 20 weeks old on May 12th. He had his first developmental checkup on May 11th with the same doctor who visited him weekly when he was in the NICU. It took her a little bit to remember us (she specifically remembered the small white folding table we brought to Nathan's room that I used for everything). :)

He did very well with the variety of tests performed. They check for social and motor skills, hearing, vision, and give an actual exam. Nathan is equivalent to a full term two month old. There were minimal recommendations for us. It was great to hear that he is doing very well and this reassured me that we're being good parents! We need to continue help with the shaping of his head (he just a sight indication showing he favors his right side), help his neck muscles by getting him to lay his head on his left side, continue tummy time, and help his vision by giving him an object for him to follow from side to side to increase his vision range. The next visit will be at 9 months.

Here is Nathan at 20 weeks.
