Nathan turned 8 months old on August 23rd. I think every month I mention how fast time goes by. Mommy and Daddy enjoy every moment with him.
* Nathan has become so much more aware of detail. He has been touching Mommy and Daddy's face and studying us intently. He is feeling and discovering objects with different textures. Nathan gently touches Mommy's hair and brushes his hand against it....then at other times he grabs and pulls hard. Ouch! :) Everything that Nathan gets a hold of in his little hand, goes directly in his mouth. He wants to chew on everything! Thank goodness for fun chew toys! Nathan also has been sucking on his thumb; before it was multiple fingers in his mouth but now it's just his thumb.
* Nathan certainly recognizes his bottle and knows it means food. He also recognizes a spoon and knows what it's for. One evening Isaac and I had an ice cream treat and I was eating mine while holding Nathan (just after he ate). When I would bring the spoon to my mouth to enjoy a bite, Nathan would open up his in anticipation for a bite. It was really cute! No ice cream yet for our little boy. With this being said, he is paying more attention to food/drink.

* Recently Nathan has been getting up on his knees and rock back and forth. No forward movement yet. He can sit up with hand support or with the Boppy around him.
* Nathan started sleeping up on his knees with his legs crossed behind him, not tucked under him. A picture is below on how our little guy has been sleeping.
* He is still wearing six month size clothes and size two diapers. The night time diapers are still doing their special job; those are size three and seem really big on him yet. Nathan is doing great eating rice cereal. He is now eating two tablespoons rice cereal (with three tablespoons water) two times a day in addition to 5-6 ounces of formula five times a day.
* He continues to be such a happy baby; smiling all the time and laughing often. We can get him to laugh without tickling him. Hearing him laugh makes us laugh and smile big. He likes to charm himself and Mommy and Daddy in the mirror with cute faces and smiles.
